American Indian Awareness & Family Involvement Week, formerly called Native American Family Involvement Day (NAFID) is scheduled for November 16-20, 2020.
Resources: For a list of helpful resources as you plan your event, please see this document.
Funding: In an effort to encourage more schools involvement this year, we are offering matching funds of up to $250.00 to schools who participate this year. We understand that this is not a large amount of funds so we encourage you to utilize Title I funds in an effort to educate your school community about the American Indian population that includes our students and their families within the district. If desired, you can also reach out to other departments and/or community organizations for additional funding if needed. A request for funds form can be completed at this link.
Publicity of Events: As part of the district wide planning, we are also collecting a list of events from the schools for use in a media release and to distribute the information to staff, administration and school board members who may attend/support events. Please complete the school site event form here.
